Our raw material becomes your care product.
Step 1:
Neem leaves are turned into neem powder.
In 2021, a German engineer planned and built our own production hall on our farm (more information here) . The fresh leaves are transported there immediately after the harvest.
Here they are first washed in a washing machine to remove any kind of contamination. They are then gently dried for two days in drying boxes specially developed by us. This is crucial for the later high effectiveness of our neem, because the harvested leaves are very sensitive to heat. This allows us to ensure that all the valuable ingredients are fully preserved. The dried leaves are then ground into powder, carefully packaged and sent to Germany.
In the next processing step, 8 kilograms of our neem extract are obtained from 1,000 kilograms of fresh neem leaves.
Step 2:
Powder becomes extract.
Our greatest treasure – NEEMAVERA.
Since only the valuable plant ingredients of the neem leaves, such as the nimbolides, are relevant to us and not the leaves as a whole, the next step is to extract these plant substances and make them available in concentrated form for further processing.
For this purpose, the leaf powder is delivered to our partner company, where the neem powder is turned into our neem extract NEEMAVERA. A process called "supercritical CO2 extraction" is used here. This process, the exact and specially developed parameters are currently being patented. (As of April 2024), concentrates the active ingredients from the leaves by a factor of 50. The resulting extract resembles a dark green, very viscous paste that smells of fresh leaves. The extract is then standardized to a defined value so that it can then be easily processed into cosmetics.
Step 3:
Extract becomes cream.
Or nail balm.
Or scalp oil…
The finished neem extract is now checked for quality and purity. After all tests have been carried out, the extract is finally ready to become part of one of our care products (read more here ).
The extract is delivered to our experienced production partner in Germany, in whose certified production facility the extract is transformed into the final product according to strict recipe instructions.
And we do without everything that is not absolutely necessary, such as …
- Fragrances and dyes
- Parabens and irritating preservatives
- Microplastics and nanoparticles
- Silicones and polyethylene glycol (PEG)
- Drying alcohols
- Mineral oil derivatives
LAST BUT NOT LEAST …
As with the entire development and production of our products, when filling them we pay attention not only to the actual effect of cream, balm, oil & Co, but also to which containers we fill them into (such as the care cream dispenser) and how we ship them from our shop.
According to Tagesschau, sending a package contributes to the emission of between approx. 530 and 670 grams of CO₂. That is why we ship our products via DHL GoGreen. Such a delivery reduces the CO2 footprint by up to a third! This means that the goods can be delivered to you in a climate-neutral way. The remaining CO₂ emissions are offset by investments in climate protection projects.
Sustainability also in shipping packaging:
The parcel boxes in which our products arrive are made from recycled, unbleached paper. We also do not use any fillers such as plastic padding or packaging chips. Instead, we use paper scraps that are also made from recycled and unbleached paper. This means that you can easily recycle all of our packaging and the fillers in your waste paper.
