Now that you know about our farm in Paraguay and the production process of our neem leaf extract , it is time to introduce you to the last step and thus the last part of our blog series “How the neem leaf from Paraguay gets into the cream at your home”.
Before the neem leaf extract is integrated into the care cream , it is examined closely and only then does it enter the product formulation as an ingredient in our skincare products.
Part 3: How the extract gets into your natural cream
We want to guarantee that the extract is safe and harmless to use for you and your skin. So before we put it into products like ours Integrate care cream , it is thoroughly tested.
Conducting tests
We or our partners carry out various tests to test the extract's skin tolerance. To do this, we had studies carried out with Dermatest and also carried out tests that examined the extract for allergens, heavy metals and azadirachtin content, among other things.
Studies with Dermatest
-
In vitro study
On the one hand, the skin compatibility and positive effects of the extract on inflamed and antioxidant-stressed skin are tested. For this purpose, we conducted an in-vitro study with Dermatest using 3D full-skin models and proved that the extract is skin-friendly and has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, more information here . -
Long-term clinical study
Our care cream is currently (as of January 2023) undergoing a clinical study carried out by Dermatest. This 5-star study tests the skin compatibility and effectiveness of our psoriasis care cream according to clinical dermatological standards. We will of course keep you updated about the study results!
Allergen potential analysis
To ensure that our neem leaf extract does not cause any allergic reactions, the BAV Institute carried out an allergen test carried out according to IFRA (= International Fragrance Association).
Azadirachtin content analysis
Furthermore, the extract was tested for azadirachtin content by the Spark-Lab laboratory. Azadirachtin is a chemical compound found primarily in neem oil (obtained from the seeds of the neem fruit) and is used as a pesticide.
Other tests
Our neem leaf extract is also tested for salanin, heavy metals and pesticides. Only then are we sure that we can use the extract in our products, which of course still have to go through the legal safety assessments, stability tests and preservation stress tests.
How the extract becomes part of the natural cream
After all these tests have been carried out, the extract is ready to become part of the care cream . The extract is delivered to our experienced partner, in whose certified production facility the extract is incorporated into the cream according to the recipe. The production of the cream consists of two phases: the oil phase and the water phase. In the water phase, the water-soluble ingredients contained in the cream are dissolved in water, in the oil phase the oil-soluble ingredients (such as our neem leaf extract) are mixed together.
Finally, the two phases are then mixed together. To create a homogeneous mass, emulsifiers are incorporated. The result is our psoriasis care cream .
Ready for one last journey
After the cream has been filled and sent to our warehouse, it is ready for its final journey: to your home, where it can unfold its powerful effect on your skin.
